Just an easy drive away from the northern conurbations, our holiday cottages in Flintshire offer a welcome escape from the noise and bustle of the big city. The countryside here is largely unspoilt, perfect for a quiet break among its small market towns and villages. There is good walking to be had in the Clwydian mountain range, which contains part of the Offas Dyke footpath, while the Dee estuary is famous for its birdlife.
Holywell is the main town of interest here. It’s the home of St. Winefride’s Well, one of the seven wonders of Wales, which has been a site of pilgrimage for more than 1400 years because of the claimed healing properties of its waters. Also in Holywell is the Greenfield Valley Heritage Park. This offers a range of attractions for all the family and is within easy reach of our holiday cottages in Flintshire. The county town of Flint is also well worth a visit. Here you’ll find the remains of one of the greatest of the Welsh castles, with wonderful views across the Dee to the Wirrall. And for tasty local food, make sure you get to the town of Mold on market day.
