holiday cottages in Argyll

This is a land of stunning coastal scenery, magnificent views across ancient hills and wonderful sunsets. Discover it yourself on one of our Argyllshire and Islands cottage holidays.

The busy port of Oban is the gateway to the isles, but is worth a visit in its own right. The view from McCaig’s Tower is truly stunning. Nearby is Inverary Castle, ancient home of the Dukes of Argyll, a mock gothic palace with fabulous interiors and bursting with precious artworks. Still on the mainland, and within easy reach of our holiday cottages in Argyllshire and Islands, is the long expanse of Loch Awe, overseen by the romantic ruins of Kilchurn Castle. For garden lovers there is Crarae Gardens, on Loch Fyne, famous for its collection of exotic plants. And don’t miss Kintyre, immortalised by Paul McCartney.

The Isle of Jura offers some splendid hill walking and plenty of opportunities for spotting red deer in the wild. The Whirlpool of Corryreckan is one of the scenic highlights here. On Mull the dramatic coastline and the pretty town of Tobermory are the main attractions, while Islay is famous for its malt whiskies.
