Cawdor Castle is one of the most romantic stately homes in the Highlands and features three marvellous gardens. The town of Elgin, with its medieval streets, cobbled market place and ruins of what was once a great cathedral is also well worth seeing. And then there are the glories of Speyside, the beautiful valley of the River Spey, famous for producing some of the finest Scotch whisky.
