West Yorkshire is certainly a county of contrasts. To the east, there are the large bustling cities of Leeds and Bradford while to the west lie vast expanses of moorland. A holiday in one of our holiday cottages in West Yorkshire has something for everyone.
The shopping in Leeds is first class, especially in the old Victorian arcades and for a great nihgt out there is a wide variety of bars and restaurants Leeds City Art Gallery has a terrific collection of twentieth century art, including works by Henry Moore and Barbara Hepworth, who were both born locally. The Royal Armouries and the industrial museum at Armley Mills are also well worth a visit during your time in the city.
Our West Yorkshire Cottage Holidays are also perfect for exploring “Bronte Country”. Visit the Bronte Parsonage in the delightful town of Haworth, take a walk across the moors that inspired “Wuthering Heights” and enjoy a pint in the pub frequented by Bramwell Bronte, black sheep of the family.
Other places of interest to discover during your cottage holiday in West Yorkshire include Kirkstall Abbey, a fine example of an old Cistercian monastery, and Saltaire, the village created by Titus Salt to provide decent housing for his mill workers.
